We started April the same way we have for many years and that’s by visiting the local farms to see the wonderful tulips displayed for the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. But as soon as we were done with that it was time to get back to work.

It’s been a very busy month. Since finishing my book, Get Back Up: From the Streets to Microsoft Suites, and sending it off to the publisher I’ve been spending my time writing by-line articles and doing interviews. Hopefully you’ve seen them on my Facebook page or on the “in the press” page on my website. If not here are a few links:

I also got to write my first opinion piece for the Huffington Post who then invited me to be a guest blogger. Of course that means I’m going to have to come up with more to say. Suzie said she didn’t think I would have a problem with that.

Last week I was interviewed by 425 magazine. For those of you who don’t know them they are a local magazine in the Bellevue WA area. 425 is the area code. I’ll post it as soon as it comes out.

The book itself is coming out on June 14th but there are a number of places that already have it available for presale. As far as I can tell some sales have already happened because the sales rankings on Amazon keep going up and down.

And if that wasn’t enough I had rotator cuff surgery. I was told that this is a very painful surgery but as someone who had three back operations I wasn’t worried about it. Sadly, they turned out to be right. This is some serious pain but I’m told by others who have had it that it will be worth it. I certainly hope so. In the meantime, I’ll continue to type with one hand as I’m doing right now.

By the way I’ll be having a book launch event in June. Stay tuned for more information on that.

As always thank you for your friendship and support.

George
