I’ve been looking back at my previous blogs and while I thought I was writing some entertaining things, I realized that I was mostly talking about me. While I’m sure some of my friends found it interesting to see what places I’ve visited since my retirement from Microsoft, they could get the same information from my Facebook page.

I wrote my book Get Back Up: From the Streets to Microsoft Suites because I thought there were lessons to be learned from the many setbacks I faced in my life and how I overcame them. I also frankly thought that people might find some of my stories entertaining but even though the book is over 300 pages it doesn’t include all the stories I would have liked to tell.

So, I started thinking about what my blog should contain. I could write about career advice but I’m doing a lot of that for several sites on the web. In fact, you can see my Seven steps to landing a job, here:

http://www.thegrindstone.com/2016/10/19/career-management/tips-strategy/7-steps-to-landing-and-keeping-a-new-job/

I also plan to do more of that in my newsletter which you can subscribe to on my website.

Another thing I could do is write more opinion pieces but I’m already doing that for The Huffington Post. You can see my latest Huffington Post blog here:

The Cost of Work/Life Balance. Here’s the link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/george-a-santino/the-cost-of-worklife-bala_b_12755800.html

Check it out and let me know what you think.

So, what does that leave? I think I’m going to write some of the stories that didn’t make it into the book and expand on some of the ones that did. Who knows if you like them and there are enough of them it might lead to another book. You’ll have to let me know what you think.

One last thing. As I said above the reason I wrote this book was because I thought I had a message that could help others. The book sells on Amazon for $22.95 and on my site for $20.00. Since I want everyone to see my message I’ve decided to reduce the price for the Kindle version to only 99 cents. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/Get-Back-Up-Streets-Microsoft-ebook/dp/B01GF5B9F8/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1477419994&sr=1-1

This price will be good until the end of the month. So please download a copy, let me know what you think and feel free to ask me any questions.

I sincerely hope that you find my book helpful and entertaining. If you do please tell a friend.

As always thank you for your friendship and support.

George
