The month started off very well. The music video for Come Fly With Me went out and has over 600
views. Both of my singles Come Fly With Me and That’s Life hit number one on the Amazon Hot New
Releases list for swing jazz and I’ve starting planning for the Christmas CD. I’ve also had a number of nice
articles written about me. Only down side is I haven’t done a real gig yet. Sure I’ve sung some karaoke,
which was fun, and I sang at the Prohibition Grille in Everett WA with Bob Strickland and his band. I even put a video of that on You Tube but I had to cancel the one gig I had due to a case of tonsillitis.
Yep as soon as I was ready to get out there and start performing a physical problem gets in the way.
I wonder if that should be another chapter in the book. After retiring from Microsoft I start my new
career as a singer only to get knocked down by my tonsils. I know it’s not as big a deal as crashing my
car when I was in my early twenties and spending weeks getting back on my feet or having three back
operations and being told I’d never work another day of my life; but neither of those stopped me from
singing. And neither will this. I will get back up. By the way that’s the title of the book. I’ll let you know
when it’s available to buy. In the meantime I have to go gargle with some warm salt water.
